11 Encouraging Bible Verses For Bloggers

Writen by: Unveiled Wife

Does The Bible Talk About Blogging?

I am confident that the verses I share in this article are critical for Christian bloggers to know, meditate on, and pray about as they aim to pour their hearts out through the blogging process.
Whether you love to write, video blog, podcast, or share graphics, I believe these verses are essential to establishing a faithful and righteous blogging presence online. May they also serve to encourage you on this sometimes seemingly isolating journey!
1. Blogging Is The Gift Of Encouragement.
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. – Hebrews 3:13
As a blogger you have the opportunity to encourage others. This is an incredible gift! So as long as it is called “Today” that you have a platform, use it to edify one another so that those who read your words are encouraged to not fall into sin’s deceitfulness. I personally do this by sharing articles about the way sin has affected my life, in hopes of readers being inspired to evaluate their own lives to see if they struggle with that sin. With each day that you experience traffic to your site, that is a gift, and opportunity to encourage and build up others!
2. My Attitude Can Get In The Way.
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control. – Proverbs 29:11
So often bloggers use their platform to vent. There is nothing wrong with sharing your opinions, even if there is an issue that arises anger or frustration in you. However, it is vital that you keep yourself under control to be cautious of how your articles unfold. Be patient, pray, and ask God to guide you through your emotions and ask Him what He wants you to say about the issue. Do not publish anything just because of how you feel, rather evaluate your attitude when writing and act in bridled self-control.
3. Who Or What Is My Blog Glorifying?
Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. – Psalm 96: 2-3
Be sure to include how the Lord is working in your life. Give Him the glory by sharing revelations, teachings, or inspirations you have received from Him to spur one another on in love. Remember your blog is most likely being seen by many nations and you have the unique opportunity to share about God with those people with every article of yours they read. May your blog glorify God!
4. I Just Need A Little More Coffee…I Mean Strength!
On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased. – Psalm 138:3
Do not try and do this on your own. Invite God to lead you every step of the way and you will be amazed at the strength He will give you to endure late nights so you can hit publish, or reply to the challenging commenters, or pray for the one on the other end reading your words. If you try to rely on your own abilities, coffee, or any other measure to help you through blogging, you will feel disheartened and discouraged. Call upon God and He will answer you.
5. Get Wisdom!
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving,considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. – James 3:13-18
This is a verse every blogger must be aware of! Do not have blogger envy over who has a bigger audience. Do not post articles for the mere benefit of selfish gain, whether that be followers or revenue or fame. Do not harbor bitterness for another blogger based on their numbers, or their book deal, or their appearance on a well-known show. In everything you do through your blog use wisdom, heavenly wisdom, pure wisdom. Be excited for your fellow bloggers and cheer them on, while continuing to fulfill your unique purpose.
6. Perseverance For Me And For Them.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9
Blogging is a resource with the potential to do extremely good in this world, as well as lead people to eternal salvation. I have seen this happen over and over and over again. Readers find hope, peace, perseverance and so much more through the stories and encouragement of bloggers. You have influence with your readers and the potential to help them in their current circumstances, so I urge you… Do not give up!
7. What Is My Purpose In Blogging?
My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. – Colossians 2:2-3
If your purpose for blogging remains focused on this verse, you will be doing an incredible thing. So many people search for purpose, and for every Christian it is laid out clear right here in this verse. So when you blog, remember your purpose to encourage, unite, and share your understanding of Christ so that others may gain wisdom, be drawn closer to God, and get to know Him more intimately. Let your articles reflect tHIS purpose!
8. Submit And Succeed.
Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established. – Proverbs 16:3
In every word, campaign, book, product, status update…in everything…commit your work to the Lord! Pray and remain humble. Ask God to lead you to what you should be sharing and how you should be saying it. Submit to God and He will establish your plans!
9. In Whom Shall I Fear?
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? – Psalm 27:1
Do not be afraid to publish the article you feel God urging you to share. Do not be terrified of being labeled or judged. Do not fear receiving horrible comments. Because chances are, you will be labeled or you will read nasty comments because the world will be reading your words and not all will be able to understand the truth you are sharing. They will want to persecute you regardless of your words, but rather because of your faith! Please do not let fear keep you from sharing God’s truth…you will never know the extent of the positive impact you are making through your obedience to the only ONE you should be fearing…God!
10. Does God Trust Me With My Blog?
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ – Matthew 25:21
I believe anyone with a blog has been entrusted with a very valuable treasure. Imagine God has gifted you your blog. Can He also trust you to take care of it and to do with it what He hoped you would do? This gift God has given you is an eternal investment as you have the opportunity to draw others into the kingdom through all that you share. With this gift you have been given a great responsibility, to be faithful to serve God and serve your community of readers by providing quality content.
11. Is What I Share Honorable?
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. – Philippians 4:8
When you write or share anything online you must think about the gravity of what you are exposing for others to see. Is what you share true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, praise worthy? It all should be! You are a reflection of God’s love and an ambassador of His gospel. May you be a vessel to share His love and light with this dark world.
As I set out to share these verses it was amazing for me to discover how much of God’s Word does pertain to something as specific as blogging; it is all about perspective and how we can apply His Word to the things we do.

I Hope And Pray These Verses Help Guide You As You Pursue The Gift That Is Blogging!
